A small portion of the ancient roodscreen has been refitted in the tower arch. It is of considerable interest, and includes two series of painted panel-pictures, well executed and in good preservation, having architectural backgrounds painted in. The panels date from around 1500 and would have been part of large screen that was dismantled in 1777. The style of painting suggests a Flemish influence. The heads were probably defaced by religious iconoclasts in Edward VI's reign.
