Kenn

The small attractive parish of St Andrew’s Kenn Church, near Exeter in Devon is constructed from local red sandstone and its interior is a true testament to the beauty of the Gothic Revival period. The churchyard is also home to one of the oldest yew trees in Britain.

The screen was probably built around 1500. Apart from the images in bays 3 and 4, all the other images are originals. Of these originals all of those on the north side are men, the central doors are the Doctors of the church, most of the south side are women apart from the 4 evangelists on the door of the Lady chapel.
